The study is a survey-based longitudinal evaluation study with three points of measurement. The objective is to evaluate how out-patient rehabilitation is experienced and rated by insured members of the Statutory Accident Insurance and Prevention in the Health and Welfare Service. Additionally, diagnosis reports of the beginning and end of the rehabilitation are examined to see if there are objectively measured changes in the health status. Interviews with rehabilitation providers and clerks of the rehabilitation management of the Statutory Accident Insurance and Prevention in the Health and Welfare Service will provide insights about the accessibility and content of the rehabilitation, so that many perspectives are included in the study. The aim of doing this, is to give recommendations about how the rehabilitation measures can be adjusted to fit the patients' needs. As also the in-patient rehabilitation will be part of the survey, it will be analyzed if out-patient rehabilitation can be a stand-alone treatment or if it more useful to sustain the progress of an in-patient rehabilitation.
It is an explorative retrospective cross-sectional study with insured members of the Statutory Accident Insurance and Prevention in the Health and Welfare Service (N=394), who already went through an out-patient rehabilitation. There will be mailed paper-pencil questionnaires about acute and persisting symptoms, experience of illness, workability, health status, rehabilitation measures (out-patient & in-patient) and longitudinal survey with three points of measurement of insured members of the Statutory Accident Insurance and Prevention in the Health and Welfare Service, who went through an out-patient and/or in-patient rehabilitation to evaluate the measures. Qualitative interviews in focus groups with clerks of the rehabilitation management of the Statutory Accident Insurance and Prevention in the Health and Welfare Service and with rehabilitation providers are planned.
